This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. A great place for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Fourth Lake is Kings River - Middle Fork; on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a pleasant time. Palisade Glacier is an out of the ordinary spot to go to while at Fourth Lake, and a splendid spot to go to close by

| | is Contact Pass. Around Fourth Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest month is June. Camping is available at First Falls Campground, and Sam Mack Meadow is a great place to check out. All the outdoors cool stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back many times. John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section. Summertime highs at Fourth Lake regularly tend to be in the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally
in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Fourth Lake. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Fourth Lake. A nice close by hotel is Super 8 Bishop, and a gorgeous lake like Summit Lake is a pleasant place
to check out. If you need a place to stay Days Inn Bishop is a wonderful choice, and do visit Black Lake, it's a gorgeous lake. Devils Postpile National Monument is one of the destinations near Fourth Lake that are wonderful to
go to. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Fourth Lake you can distinguish Mount Gayley; going for a hike along the Kings River Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.

Sabrina Campground
 | I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories.... |

 | The only way to drop a kayak in Kings river is a very long drive (maybe 4-5 hours) to the west side or the range, or lugging it through the wilderness (over the spine). I think I would have to give a gold medal to anyone who would lug a kayak from Big Trees to Kings river. Just a heads-up.... |
