A normal amount of rain falls here at Forni Lake; all through January this area sees the most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture. The top of Pyramid Peak is easily made out from Forni Lake, and Fortytwo Mile Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail close to Forni Lake called the Hawley Grade Trail, and the best way to       spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Kirkwood. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. If the weather is nice here at Forni Lake, you can go for a hike along the Windmiller Trail, and Cody Creek is next to Forni Lake and is always a joy to stop by. On a tremendous day at Forni Lake you can take a hike along the Red Peak Trail, and get your pulse rate                  up on the great whitewater of American River - South Fork. Summer at Forni Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are typically in the 40's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Forni Lake descend into the 10's. Hit the slopes at Sierra at Tahoe close at hand.
