Many people like to go to Fordyce Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Shinneyboo Creek Cabin Resort is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and a perfect place for whitewater paddling is Fordyce Creek. This place, Fordyce Lake, it definitely has so much outdoors fun stuff. Camping is available at Sterling Lake Campground, and a fine close by hotel is Hoyfjellet Lodge. Very delightful scenery and pleasant skiing is what you get at Soda Springs, and nice hiking is available along the Glacier Lakes Trail. The view of stunning Hartley Butte near Fordyce Lake is pleasant. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more cool things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Fordyce Lake is a place with many visitors
from Truckee-Grass Valley, and a pleasant visit to Furnace Flat is a nice way to spend an afternoon. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Fordyce Lake get into the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures
fall down into the 40's. Highs throughout the winter are usually in the 40's, and night lows at Fordyce Lake through the wintertime usually fall into the 20's.
Fordyce Lake gets a great deal of water; January is when you get the
most rain here, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Yuba River - South Fork, and there's great hiking along the Loch Leven Trail.
