A good place like China Flat here at Fontanillis Lake is too fine to miss, and on a perfect day it's a great idea to spend the day at Lester Beach. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is excellent! Calawee Cove Beach is close to Fontanillis Lake if you're in a beach type of mood; on a wonderful day you acquire a great vista of Dicks Peak from Fontanillis Lake. Going for a hike on the General       Creek Trail is always a great adventure; what would winter be without some skiing at Homewood. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. This is a popular site for people from Gardnerville Ranchos. There are splendid places to discover along the Red Peak Trail, and you can run the rapids of American River - South Fork. Fontanillis Lake gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; most of the snow falls                  all through January; July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Sierra at Tahoe is a fine location to do that, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Dicks Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do near Fontanillis Lake. Lakes are delightful; Upper Velma Lake is a lake that's next to Fontanillis Lake, and Fontanillis Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Bayview Campground is a great local campground. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Pistantes Coyote Den is a pleasant spot to get some rest; Dicks Pass is another good spot to take a look at close by. There's so much to do here at Fontanillis Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Eagle Falls Campground is a fine place for that, and you can go for a hike on the Highland Trail. All through the summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Fontanillis Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Fontanillis Lake overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. If only every spot had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great globe it would be.
