Man, is there lots of fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you need a place to stay Heidelberg Inn is a perfect choice; a wonderful vista of scenic Vogelsang Peak is available. Vogelsang Pass is in the neighborhood of Florence Lake and is a good spot, and camping at Tenaya Lake Campground is always a nice experience. Florence Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. The Clouds Rest Trail offers hiking at its best. So much enjoyable stuff

Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Bernice Lake, and after a long day outdoors The Ahwahnee is a great site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Florence Creek, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Florence Lake; Gaylor Lakes Trail is a great local trail. Yosemite Creek is a good whitewater spot close to Florence Lake; there's nice hiking along the John Muir Trail -
section 1. Summer at Florence Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here
at Florence Lake. The annual precipitation here at Florence Lake is about average; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Be careful coming to Florence Lake, you might
not ever want to return home again. A pleasant location for whitewater paddling near Florence Lake is Tenaya Creek, and camping is available at Tioga Campground.
