Do explore Cathedral Lake near Floating Island Lake, it's a pretty lake; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Homewood. Just can't get enough of Floating Island Lake. Floating Island Lake is right by the General Creek Trail; after a long day outdoors Pine Cone Acre Motel is a fine place to spend a night or two. That right there is loads of cool things already but       it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. A cool spot to have a look at in the vicinity of Floating Island Lake is Cathedral Peak, and golf can be played at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course. A spree to Baldwin Beach in the vicinity of Floating Island Lake is always a tremendous idea, and there are plenty of folks from Gardnerville Ranchos here at Floating Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can                  always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork, and camping at Baldwin Beach Campground is always a good experience. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 14, and let's not forget Cathedral Creek which is a stream that you may run into while here. The Hawley Grade Trail offers hiking at its best, and magnificent skiing awaits you at Sierra at Tahoe. This lake is so wonderful. Sawmill Core is relatively near Floating Island Lake; there's some attention-grabbing stuff to distinguish at Fallen Leaf Dam in close proximity to Floating Island Lake. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Camping is available at California Land Management, and Silver Creek - South Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. High temperatures at Floating Island Lake through the summer months are in the 70's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Floating Island Lake. Floating Island Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Put some time aside to spend at Glen Alpine Spring if you're here at Floating Island Lake. The top of Angora Peak is easily spotted from Floating Island Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Pistantes Coyote Den. From a rainfall point of view Floating Island Lake is a rather normal spot; the month with most of the snow is January, and the driest month is July. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Floating Island Lake.
