For the period of the summer months at Five Lakes temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Five Lakes. There are splendid spots to discover along the Granite Chief Trail; a striking lake like Lake Estelle is a great spot to go to. A journey to Alpine Meadows invigorates the soul,       and you'll hit upon a pretty lake called Shirley Lake. This site is peerless, just explore all the fun stuff to do near Five Lakes. In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Truckee River. So many cool things to do at Five Lakes, so little time. A quick trip to Whisky Creek near Five Lakes is a wonderful idea, and what would winter be without some skiing at Alpine Meadows. This lake is so wonderful.                  Good hiking is available along the Five Lakes Creek Trail; whitewater paddling is great on Yuba River - South Fork. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A trip to Five Lakes wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Big Spring; from Five Lakes you get a wonderful vista of KT-22. Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn is a magnificent spot to get some rest, and don't leave Five Lakes without first going for a hike along the Big Spring Trail. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The slopes of Squaw Valley are so inviting nobody can resist, and Five Lakes is a tremendous spot to visit for more than one day, Splitrock Campground is a tremendous spot to camp nearby. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Five Lakes; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that snows the most, and the driest of the months is July. Five Lakes is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful.
