First Lake is regularly a rather dried up place; through January this area sees the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture. Just can't get enough of the Central Sierra Nevada. One of the dominant features of the surroundings of First Lake is Mount Alice. There's so much to do here at First Lake that you need to camp here for a while, First Falls Campground is a wonderful place       for that. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Bishop, and nearby you locate the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section which is a great hiking trail. Get dripping wet paddling on Kings River - Middle Fork, and if you need a place to stay Bishop-Days Inn is a nice choice. So many cool things to do here at First Lake, too nice to be true. There is a perfect hiking trail near First Lake called the Kings River Trail; Sam                  Mack Meadow is a good place to check out. And if that's not enough there's loads more enjoyable things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Stay the night at Second Falls Campground; going for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11 is always a brilliant adventure. Summertime highs at First Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to First Lake. First Lake is not the only site close by, Big Pine Lake is a close by lake, and Contact Pass is another pleasant site to pop by close by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful.
