Lakes? Sure, Big Pine Lake is in the vicinity; a brilliant spot to camp here at Fifth Lake is First Falls Campground. Fifth Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Not much rain falls here at Fifth Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Yeah, come       up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a pleasant time. Mount Agassiz is picturesque and can be seen from Fifth Lake, and some interesting geology is available here, Palisade Glacier is right here. While you're here at Fifth Lake it's a good idea to stop by Sam Mack Meadow, and going for a hike on the Kings River Trail is always a good adventure. For the period of the days of summer at Fifth Lake temperatures are regularly in the 90's, and the nighttime is                  a little colder of course, commonly in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 50's with temperatures at Fifth Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Bishop-Days Inn is a good spot to get some rest, and a pleasant site to visit close by is Agassiz Col. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Second Falls Campground is always a brilliant experience, and splendid hiking is available along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11. Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna return home again. Go for a hike on the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section, and paddling on Kings River - Middle Fork is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful.
