The high level of precipitation makes Fern Lake a rather wet place; most of the rain falls during January, and the driest of the months is July. For the period of the warm days of summer at Fern Lake highs are usually in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the       50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Fern Lake through the winter usually dip into the 30's. Going for a hike along the Bald Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; Fern Lake is not the only site nearby, Lake Josephine is a nearby lake. But wait, there's more to do close to Fern Lake. Enjoy a round of golf at Sonoma National Golf Course not far from Fern Lake, and drift down                  the rapids of Napa River in a kayak. A spree to Muir Woods National Monument is recommended, and after a long day outdoors Gaige House-a Joie de Vivre Hotel is a perfect place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Asbury Creek is a stream that you may bump into during your stay, and if you need a spot to stay Kenwood Inn and Spa is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Mark West Creek offers some great whitewater, and Mays Clearing is right here at Fern Lake. You're sure to encounter some cheerful people from Napa here.
