The Loon Lake Trail offers hiking at its best; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Miller Creek. For the period of the summer months at Fawn Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are generally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Fawn Lake are in the 10's. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining things to       do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You could also check out Rockbound Lake while you're here at Fawn Lake; it's close by, and Alpine Meadows is a great local ski area. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Fawn Lake; Red Peak Trail is a tremendous local trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Fawn Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pleasant Boat-In Campground, and dry warm beds await you at Squaw Valley Lodge.                  There's whitewater on American River - South Fork for all you thrill seekers, and if you need a place to stay Village at Squaw Valley is a good choice. All the outdoors fun stuff right next door to Fawn Lake will keep you coming back many times. There are some good whitewater spots on Silver Creek - South Fork; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Homewood is quite near. A lake close by is Buck Island Lake, and there's magnificent hiking along the Highland Trail. You completely must like the Northern Sierra Nevada. Rubicon Springs is a fine local attraction. There's so much to do here at Fawn Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wentworth Springs Campground is a splendid spot for that. Fawn Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
