On Tuolumne River you find the nearby Tioga Road Bridge to Hetch Hetchy Reservoir sector. This is a grade IV-V+, 32-mile-in-length bit of whitewater. This part of Tuolumne River is good for those with a good deal of whitewater experience. You should check circumstances in advance of a trip; whitewater kayaking or rafting can get dangerous. If you came for an overnight stay Sawmill Campground is a great place to camp, and a quick visit to Mine Creek is undeniably a
fine idea. Fantail Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Really nice skiing awaits you at June Mountain, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Gaylor Lakes Trail.
A really pretty lake in a an absolutely beautiful setting, just a little ways past the historic remnants of the mining town of Bennitville. An easy day hike with a fantastic pay off.
