If you came to camp South Portal Campground is a fine place to do that, and you're possibly interested in lakes, Munz Lakes is one of those close by. Put some time aside to spend at Mud Spring if you're here at Fairmont Reservoir, and a magnificent nearby hotel is Hampton Inn Suites Lancaster. Fairmont Reservoir is pretty dry regularly; throughout February this area sees the most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month. All through the summer months here
at Fairmont Reservoir, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Fairmont Reservoir throughout the wintertime mostly dip into the 30's.
So many enjoyable things to do at Fairmont Reservoir, so little time. This is a nice neighborhood for people who like lakes. Hughes Lake is a lake around here; Price Canyon is unquestionably a nice place to check out.

This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Fairmont Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Hughes Lake Shore Park is a brilliant location for that, and there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Warm Springs Trail. After a long day outdoors Travelodge Of Santa Clarita is a great site to spend a night or two, and close by you stumble on the Fish Canyon Trail which is a great hiking trail.
The Burnt Peak Trail is a glorious hiking trail right next door to Fairmont Reservoir.

Munz Lakes
We stayed at Munz every weekend. Sometimes for two weeks at a time. I remember that grand old farmhouse, with its huge dance floor, and the basement casino, and washing beer mugs and glasses with Conrad, Eli Munz grandson, and shooting at ferrul cats from Conrad's upstairs bedroom window, and so much more. There was Joe and Thelma, who helped run the resort, their kids Diane, who I had a secret crush on, Steve and little Joe. All those years of memories are like magic dreams. So much that once was, is now lost...    Terry....I would love some pictures of it too! Our family camped here in the 50's and 60's.  I have such good memories of the place. The pool with the high dive, fishing, catching frogs and hiking around....

Hi, please take a look at the attached photo.  I took it today in La Jolla Canyon, at the water fall (dry now).  Notice that a large rock appears to be loose and or without support.  It looks like the rock is supporting the trail above.  Someone should take a closer look at that rock.  In heavy rain it could come down.  It looks unstable....
