Cabrillo National Monument is a tremendous location near Fairbanks Lake, and you can stay the night at Burnt Rancheria - Cleveland National Forest. Surf and Turf RV Park is a good campground nearby; you can run the rapids of Escondido Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Fairbanks Lake is not the only location close by, San Dieguito Reservoir is a close by lake, and Los Penasquitos Creek is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. Just can't get enough of Fairbanks Lake.

| | A round of golf at nearby Lomas Santa Fe Country Club is a wonderful way to kill some time, and a great location to have a look at is Osuna Valley.
Looking for something close to Fairbanks Lake? Lake Val Sereno is nearby, and why not pop by nearby Lusardi Creek if you're here at Fairbanks Lake. It is very dried out here at Fairbanks Lake typically; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here; July is when it's the driest.

At Fairbanks Lake throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 60's, and overnight lows in the 40's for Fairbanks Lake.
