This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kings River - Middle Fork, and Ems Pond is not the only spot close by, Weir Lake is a close by lake. So much entertaining stuff to do at Ems Pond, so little time. A good close by hotel is Days Inn Bishop, and a great place like Coats Meadow here at Ems Pond is too delightful to miss. Ems Pond is pretty dried out mostly; of all the months in a year January       is the one with the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Tyee Lakes, and if you have time, Devils Postpile National Monument is a national park worth going to. Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Aspen Meadow Campground is a fine local campground, and why not camp at Creekside RV Park since you're here at Ems Pond. Visit South Fork                  Bishop Creek since you're here at Ems Pond, and hiking along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section is tremendous fun. Summertime highs at Ems Pond typically tend to be in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Ems Pond. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a nice time.
