Highs throughout the winter are usually in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Emma Lake are in the 20's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Just can't get enough of Emma Lake. Camping is available at Sonora Bridge Campground, and do visit Junction Reservoir, it's a gorgeous lake. This lake is so wonderful.       From Emma Lake you obtain a great panorama of Mount Emma. Glide down the rapids of West Walker River in a kayak, and Stockade Flat is right here at Emma Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Lost Canyon Trail; a brilliant spot to camp here at Emma Lake is Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back persistently. Paddling on West Walker River is                  so much fun; Poore Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. There's great hiking along the Early Emigrant and Indian Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Gardnerville/Carson City is a great choice. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. The Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 offers hiking at its best; a delightful site is Burt Canyon.
