    Do stop by Emma Lake while you're in this part of California. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Emma Lake is right by the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12. A good close by hotel is Best Western Topaz Lake Inn, and the top of Mount Emma is easily seen from Emma Lake. While you're here at Emma Lake it's a splendid idea to have a look at Stockade Flat, and if you come at the right time of year, West Walker River  
   offers some perfect whitewater.
There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Emma Lake. The Early Emigrant and Indian Trail offers hiking at its best; do take a hike on the Lost Canyon Trail. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Sierra Nevada. Burt Canyon is a pleasant place to visit next to Emma Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Leavitt Meadows Campground is a fine site to camp. This lake is so
 
               wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit West Walker River; why not camp at Sonora Bridge Campground while you're here at Emma Lake.
At Emma Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Emma Lake. Emma Lake is pretty dried up typically; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Emma Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada.
