This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. You get a good sight of Black Butte from Emigrant Lake, and Woods Lake Campground is a fine local campground. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too fine to be true. You clearly must have a thing about the Northern Sierra Nevada. Paddling on American River - South Fork is so much fun; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Bear Valley is reasonably near.
This lake

is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Emigrant Trail, and a splendid spot to visit close by is Horse Canyon. A day on the slopes of Kirkwood is just what you need, and if you need a site to stay Meadowstone is a good choice. The fine folks of Gardnerville Ranchos like to hang out close by; you'll come across a lovely lake called Scout Carson Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Places like Emigrant Valley are pleasant to have a look at; don't leave Emigrant Lake

without first going for a hike along the Charity Valley Trail. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Emigrant Lake has it all. Emigrant Lake is a good site to visit for more than one day, Caples Lake Campground is a good site to camp nearby; some of the water nearby flows, like Emigrant Creek. During the months of summer highs here at Emigrant Lake reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 30's with temperatures at Emigrant Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Man, is there lots of fun things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Dry warm beds await you at The Meadow, and going for a hike on the Hawley Grade Trail is always a splendid adventure. Emigrant Lake is a wet site that gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow; July is the month with the least moisture.
Whitewater paddling is nice on Mokelumne River - North Fork; lakes are such serene places, why not explore Corrie Lochan.
