    Many people like to go to Emerald Lake. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Trinity River - North Fork, and close by you stumble on the Tanners Peak Trail which is a great hiking trail. All through the warmest time of the year at Emerald Lake highs are mostly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's with temperatures at Emerald Lake  
   dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Emerald Lake you can distinguish Sawtooth Mountain; why not camp at Big Flat Campground since you're here at Emerald Lake.
Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in close proximity to Emerald Lake. Do pay a visit to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area while you're here at Emerald Lake. These mountains rock, just look at all the cool stuff to do in the Klamath
 
               Mountains. Salmon River - South Fork is a delightful whitewater spot near Emerald Lake, and camping at Emerald Lake is good fun, Ripstein Campground is a good local campground. Emerald Lake is located in the Klamath Mountains.
There is a great hiking trail close to Emerald Lake called the Deacon Lee Trail, and Caribou Lake is a magnificent lake close by. The yearly rainfall here at Emerald Lake is about average; through December this area sees the most rain, and July is when it's the driest.
