Go for a hike on the Tanners Peak Trail. There's so much to do here at Emerald Lake that you need to camp here for       a while, Ripstein Campground is a great location for that. Having a brilliant time at Emerald Lake is trouble-free. At Emerald Lake you can see Sawtooth Mountain. Lakes? Sure, Moraine Lake is close at hand. There are good spots to discover along the Deacon Lee Trail; Trinity River - North Fork is a brilliant whitewater spot close by. High temperatures at Emerald Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Visiting Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and you can run the rapids of Salmon River - South Fork.
