Through the summer at Emerald Lake temperatures are typically in the 90's with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Emerald Lake sink into the 20's. Emerald Lake is not the only site close by, Ruby Lake is a close by lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend San Joaquin River - Middle Fork. Emerald Lake gets
a typical amount of annual rainfall; January is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is June.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Emerald Lake; John Muir Trail - section 2 is a nice local trail, and dry warm beds await you at Heidelberg Inn. This lake is so wonderful. You could also check out Sullivan Lake if you're here at Emerald Lake; it's close by, and a delightful place to camp here at Emerald Lake is Grant Lake Marina-campground. And

if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do near Emerald Lake. The Gaylor Lakes Trail offers hiking at its best; if you need a place to stay Mammoth Mountain Inn is a nice choice.
Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mammoth Mountain, and Emerald Lake is right by the Mammoth Rock Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Emerald Lake, you could have a look at Crest Creek, and nice skiing awaits you at June Mountain.
So many enjoyable things in the Central Sierra Nevada, just striking. Agnew Pass is a glorious location to look at; camping at Trailer Park Campground is always a tremendous experience. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful.
