Do pop by Mirror Lake next to Elks Lake, it's a lovely lake, and Oxford Suites Redding is a glorious place to get some rest. For the period of the days of summer here at Elks Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are commonly in the 50's; night lows in the 30's for Elks Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After       a long day outdoors Ramada Limited Redding is a fine place to spend a night or two; people from Redding love to come here. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on McCloud River. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Nearby Little Valley is a great spot to go if you're at Elks Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Dry Creek Trail. Elks Lake mostly gets a good deal of precipitation; January is the wettest month with most rain while July is ordinarily                  the driest month. Stay the night at Bear Mountain RV Resorts; Bear Creek has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby. East Dry Creek is a delightful stream that is worth going to.
