Elk Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. If only every location had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a great earth it would be. The Klamath Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the Low Gap Trail, and Elk Lake is right by the Horse Camp Trail. Hiking along the Boundary National Recreation Trail is glorious fun; Elk Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Hutton Campground

| | is a delightful local campground. Man, is there plenty of entertaining things to do near Elk Lake. Echo Canyon is a pleasant spot to discover, and get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Klamath River. An average amount of rainfall falls at Elk Lake; all through December this area sees the most rain while July is usually the driest month. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Klamath Mountains. | |

Interesting geology is available here; Butte Fork Slide is in the vicinity of Elk Lake; Cook and Green Butte is trouble-free to spot from Elk Lake. For the duration of the summer months here at Elk Lake, high temperatures mostly reach
the 80's; the night is a bit cooler of course, ordinarily in the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows during the winter for Elk Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Best
Western Inn At The Rogue is a delightful place to get some rest; Cameron Meadow is a good location. And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more enjoyable stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains. You can run the rapids of Indian
Creek Klamath Tributary near Elk Lake. There's so much to do here at Elk Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cook and Green Campground is a great place for that. Kangaroo Spring is always fun to check out; if you've had enough
of Elk Lake, Towhead Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Butte Fork Applegate River since you're here at Elk Lake; Elk Lake is not the only site close by, Lily Pad Lake is a close by lake.
