Elk Lake is one of the lakes here in the Coast Ranges. For the duration of the summertime months, highs generally are in the 80's at Elk Lake. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Through the winter highs are frequently in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Elk Lake. At Elk       Lake you can spot Hurdygurdy Butte, and you can stay the night at Shady Bend RV and Mobile Park. That right there is heaps of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Coast Ranges has it all. Going for a hike along the Elk Camp Ridge Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Elk Lake has to offer, you can camp at Cedar Rustic Campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't                  mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hurdygurdy Creek; Little Bear Basin is a delightful location. Elk Lake gets a good deal of water; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. This place, Elk Lake, it completely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Hiking along the Clear Creek National Recreation Trail is brilliant fun. Lakes are magnificent; Ship Mountain Lake is a lake that's near Elk Lake. Be careful coming to the Coast Ranges, you might not ever wanna go home again.
