If time allows, Golden Gate National Recreation Area is a national park worth a visit, and nearby you find the Bootjack Trail which is a great hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lands End is close at hand and always nice to have a look at, and Lindley Meadow is a perfect site to stretch your legs a bit. During the warm months highs here at Elk Glen Lake get into the 80's while night lows are frequently in       the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Elk Glen Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Presidio Golf Course is a good way to kill some time; a pretty lake like Mallard Lake is a good place to have a look at. Lobos Creek is a brilliant place to stop at; going for a hike on the Ben Johnson Trail is always a glorious adventure. Dry warm beds await you at Geary                  Parkway Motel; there are nice places to look at along the Temelpa Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Elk Glen Lake. Camping is available at Edventure More; not far from here you can enjoy the trees of George Washington Bicentennial Grove. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Elk Glen Lake. Spend the day on the beach at Baker Beach since you're here at Elk Glen Lake, and why not camp at Kirby Cove Campground while you're here at Elk Glen Lake. Put some time aside to spend at Huntington Falls while you're here at Elk Glen Lake, and the peak of Lone Mountain can be spotted from Elk Glen Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Elk Glen Lake a reasonably wet location; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. One of the best things about Elk Glen Lake is its proximity to China Beach, and while you're here you will meet lots of people from close by San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont. This lake is so wonderful.
