     Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Here at Elephant Rock Lake you can distinguish Elephant Rock; a day on the slopes of Kirkwood is just what you need. What a location this is for outdoors people. Whitewater paddling is great on Stanislaus River - Middle Fork. There's so much to do here at Elephant Rock Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Silver Valley Campground is a tremendous place for that. Elephant Rock  
   Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Marten Campground is a delightful local campground, and why not head up to Bear Valley and strap some skis to your feet.
Throughout the summer months here at Elephant Rock Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 60's. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Elephant Rock
 
               Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Elephant Rock Lake a wet site; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest of the months is July. Dry warm beds await you at The Meadow.
If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mokelumne River - North Fork; if you've had enough of Elephant Rock Lake, Summit Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. You're probably hooked on lakes, Mud Lake is one of those nearby, and there are good locations to discover along the Charity Valley Trail. All year is a nice time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you go for the outdoors. Duck Creek flows through this vicinity; going for a hike on the Emigrant Trail is always a delightful adventure.
This lake is so wonderful. The Mountain Club is a perfect spot to get some rest; you can go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada.
