Hit the slopes at Kirkwood close at hand; get wet paddling on American River - South Fork. Having a great time at Elbert Lake is uncomplicated. The Burnside Lake Trail offers hiking at its best, and glide down the rapids of Mokelumne River - North Fork in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful.       You'll need more than a day to look at everything Elbert Lake has to offer, you can camp at Firs Campground, and dry warm beds await you at The Meadow. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A quick visit to Big Meadow Creek close to Elbert Lake is a splendid idea; if you need a place to stay Meadowstone is a nice choice. This place, the Northern Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. Lakes? Sure, Showers                  Lake is in close proximity, and Elbert Lake is not far at all from Gardnerville Ranchos. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Sierra at Tahoe, and Elbert Lake is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Alpine Campground is a fine spot to camp nearby. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Elbert Lake; Charity Valley Trail is a great local trail, and Tahoe Paradise Golf Course is a great golf course close by. Summertime highs at Elbert Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Elbert Lake. So much cool stuff close to Elbert Lake, definitely inspiring. Good hiking is available along the Hawley Grade Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Dardanelles Lake.
