What a nice lake Echo Lake is. A nice nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Central, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Castle Lake Trail. Interesting geology is available here; Panther Rock is near Echo Lake; Sacramento River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by. Echo Lake is pretty dried up generally; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. on Trinity River - East Fork. If the weather is beautiful, you get a tremendous view of Boulder Peak from Echo Lake, and you ought to positively dedicate some time to Devils Pocket while you're here at Echo Lake. Why not camp at Gumboat
Campground since you're here at Echo Lake, and going for a hike along the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
If you like the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Echo
Lake. Echo Lake is not the only spot nearby, Picayune Lake is a nearby lake, and getting to Tamarack Creek from Echo Lake is painless. So much amusing stuff to do here at Echo Lake, too good to be true. Gotta ski! Mount Shasta is a wonderful place to do that.
