    If you are in this part of California make sure to pay a visit to Echo Lake. Castle Lake Campground is a glorious local campground, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Trinity River - East Fork. Go for a hike on the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Gumboat Campground is a delightful location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. If you feel like a little side visit, try Devils Gulch; in all probability you're looking  
   for nearby lakes? Sure, Terrace Lake is just a very short distance away.
Not much rain falls here at Echo Lake; December is the wettest month with most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great globe it would be. On a lovely day you acquire a vista of Boulder Peak from Echo Lake, and sites like Devils Pocket are splendid to visit. If you need a location to stay
 
               Best Western Tree House Motor Inn is a great choice; obviously, this is a tremendous neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Lower Seven Lake is a lake in the vicinity.
This lake is so wonderful. If you're hooked on cool geologic features, try Panther Rock, and naturally Tamarack Creek is a striking stream that is worth visiting. Gotta ski! Mount Shasta is a magnificent site to do that, and don't leave Echo Lake without first going for a hike along the Castle Lake Trail. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do near Echo Lake. There are wonderful sites to discover along the Echo Lake Trail.
Get dripping wet paddling on Sacramento River, and a splendid close by hotel is Comfort Inn Central. During the days of summer highs here at Echo Lake get into the 80's while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Echo Lake through the winter generally fall into the 20's.

Pollard Flat Campground (USFS has been closed for over 10 years.  The closed campground is within 100 feet of the Interstate Highway.  The Day Use area/River access that is about 1/2 mile upstream is a very nice spot for put in/out....

Beehive campground is pretty good, little rocky and if the water is down that can be a problem. The do have several outhouses there and it is easy to get to. Gregory Creek is better but has been closed for many years due to the eagles nesting. Invest in wasp traps!
