This lake is located in the wonderful Southern Cascade Range. Man, is there lots of exciting things to do close to East Lake. A beautiful lake like Island Lake next to East Lake is a splendid site to explore, and great hiking is available along the Childs Meadows Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Bonte Peak can be observed from East Lake,       and you can go for a hike on the Lassen Trail. The warmest time of the year at East Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at East Lake. A nice site to camp here at East Lake is Benner Creek Campground; there are glorious sites to discover along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 16. There's no way someone                  can get bored here in the Southern Cascade Range. You'll discover a beautiful lake called Glen Lake near East Lake. East Lake is commonly a relatively waterless place; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July. So much exciting stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range, not enough time.
