If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Trinity River, and a great place to camp here at East Boulder Lake is Scott Mountain Campground. If you're keen on cool geologic features, try Eagle Creek Benches, and Upper Boulder Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out.
