This lake is so wonderful. Dutch Lake is right by the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mono Creek. The peak of Kings Castle can be made out from Dutch Lake, and drift down the rapids of San Joaquin River - South Fork in a kayak. So many cool things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Do set aside some time for Dutch Oven Meadow if you're here at Dutch Lake, and naturally Crater Creek flows through this vicinity.

There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you came for an overnight stay Florence Lake Campground is a wonderful location to camp, and if you've had enough of Dutch Lake, Crater Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Snowcreek Resort is a good place to spend a night or two. You could also check out Hidden Lake while you're here at Dutch Lake; it's close by, and the Red Mountain Trail offers hiking
               at its best.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Jackass's Meadows Campground
I've been to the campground and it is a great area; however, it is NOT an arid environment as the description says.? It is located at over 7000 feet in a forested area.? In addition, there is NO access to Devils Postpile (or the Mammoth area, as is implied by the lodging links). The campground is located at the end of the road and there is no road pass over the Sierra anywhere in this area. This campground is seasonal and is snowed in completely in the winter. ...

Rainbow Lake
Rainbow lake, as well as numerous other lakes in the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness Area are well worth the moderate effort it takes to visit. Rainbow lake itself is cupped between a low granite ridge and a steeper, curving granite wall. It is a beautifully clear lake populated with large numbers of rainbow trout which I assume gave it the name. Information, registration, and restrictions can all be obtained at the Ranger station located in the town of Prather. We camp at this lake at least twice a year, and it is always one of my favorites....

Bear Twin Lakes
Great place to visit! A must see for all families and tourists! The awe and marvel at the beauty of the lake is indescribable! My family had an awsome experience and Joey, Anisa, and Diana ( my children) all would love to go back!  Bear Twin Lakes is not a place to miss! Just watch out for the occasional black bear!...

Sierra Summit

Sierra Summit is located in the Sierra National Forest, just 65 miles northeast of Fresno at Huntington Lake. The resort offers over 1600 feet of vertical serviced by seven chairlifts and 4 surface lifts with terrain to suit all ability levels. There is slopeside lodging at the Sierra Summit Inn with a full service rental and repair shop, sports shop and snowsports school. Sierra Summit has invested heavily in snow making allowing us to offer consistent snow coverage on most runs all winter long. Our snowmaking also allows for an earlier season opening as well as allowing skiing and riding well into April during most seasons. The resort continues to provide the best winter experience at a tremendous value with money-saving options such as the Stay and Play lodging special, $20 high school Sundays, a Learn to Ski and Snowboard Guarantee and a spring season pass special.
