Hiking is a popular thing to do around Dune Lakes; Alan Peak Trail is a nice local trail, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Arroyo Grande. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Dune Lakes temperatures are typically in the 60's with nighttime lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 60's, and overnight lows all through the       wintertime for Dune Lakes tend to be in the 40's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Santa Lucia Range. All the outdoors cool things near Dune Lakes will keep you coming back many times. While you're here at Dune Lakes you will meet lots of people from close by San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles, and a nice spot is Black Lake Canyon. It is very waterless here at Dune Lakes frequently; January is the month that gets the most rain, and June is when it's the                  driest. There's fine hiking along the Hi Mountain Trail, and Pacific Plaza Resort is a great location to get some rest. This is a great area for people who like lakes. White Lake is a lake nearby.
