     This lake is so wonderful. Onion Pond is a nice lake near Dugans Pond; dry warm beds await you at Dawn Ranch. At Dugans Pond throughout the summertime highs are in the 60's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's while the cold winter nights at Dugans Pond are in the 40's. The high level of rainfall makes Dugans Pond a pretty wet site; all through the month of January you get  
   the most rain around here while July is typically the driest month.
Just can't get enough of the Coast Ranges. Put some time aside to spend at Government Spring since you're here at Dugans Pond, and going for a hike along the Monte Rio Fire Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Russian River; camping at Thousand Trails is always
 
               a delightful experience. There's whitewater on Big Sulphur Creek for all you adrenaline people.
You should unquestionably check out Lions Head Rock while you're here at Dugans Pond, and it's a perfect idea to check out Bearpen Creek. And that's not everything you can do here in the Coast Ranges. A great location to stop by near Dugans Pond is Holmes Canyon, and Dugans Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Rivers End is a pleasant local campground. The Coast Ranges scenery is always beautiful.
And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do in the neighborhood of Dugans Pond. If you need a place to stay Village Inn And Restaurant is a pleasant choice, and there are other places here than Dugans Pond, for example Moonshine Pond. On a wonderful day you acquire a panorama of Big Oat Mountain from Dugans Pond, and everybody loves The Racetrack.

You don't mention the beautiful wine country roads to either drive through or ride bikes on, or Lake Sonoma's Yorty Creek, which is a nearby family swimming hole. You can kayak, swim, picnic and hike there. You can also paddle boat in to a few campgrounds.

There's also the fish hatchery near the dam on the lake, as well as some more scenic hiking and biking trails.
