If you need a place to stay Chalet View Lodge is a splendid choice, and brilliant hiking is available along the Finger Board Trail. Ross Campground is a fine local campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Duck Soup Pond; Cleghorn Bar Trail is a good local trail. So many entertaining things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too good to be true. Bunker Hill       Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth taking a look at. Lakes are great; Onion Valley Reservoir is a lake that's right next door to Duck Soup Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Feather River - Middle Fork, and Big Cove - Plumas National Forest is a delightful campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Duck Soup Pond reach the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the                  40's. Throughout the winter highs are frequently in the 30's, and night lows in the 20's for Duck Soup Pond. Get dripping wet paddling on Lavezzola Creek, and there's glorious hiking along the Eureka Lake Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. This is a good area for people who like lakes. Delahunty Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and the panorama of delightful Mount Etna is perfect. The annual rainfall here at Duck Soup Pond is about average; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow, and the driest of the months is July.
