     Dry Lake is generally a rather arid place; most of the rain falls during January while July is usually the driest month. Markleeville Campground is a nice campground nearby, needless to say you could also pop by Indian Creek Reservoir while you're here; it's not far at all.
Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to return home again. Dry Lake is a spot with many visitors from Gardnerville Ranchos, and dry warm beds await you
 
   at Best Western Topaz Lake Inn. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Dry Lake. Gotta ski! Kirkwood is a wonderful site to do that; David Walley's Resort is a perfect place to get some rest. The slopes of Heavenly are so inviting noone can resist, and close by Little Cottonwood Canyon is a splendid site to go.
That right there is a load of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. If you came for an overnight
 
               stay Carson River Resort is a good place to camp; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Carson River - East Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Dry Lake without first going for a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Dry Lake; Charity Valley Trail is a glorious local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Burnside Lake Trail; if you've had enough of Dry Lake, Curtz Lake is nearby.
At Dry Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Dry Lake. Dry Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
