    Lake Dorothy is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby June Mountain. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada. Bighorn Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and don't miss out on a spree to Devils Postpile National Monument since you're here. At Lake Dorothy you don’t see much precipitation; during January this area sees the most rain, and June  
   on the other hand is the driest.
You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you need a place to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a good choice, and splendid skiing awaits you at Mammoth Mountain. So many fun things in the Central Sierra Nevada, just striking. Whitewater paddling is great on Mono Creek, and why not camp at Upper McGee Creek Campground while you're here at Lake Dorothy. While you're here at Lake Dorothy you can take a hike along the
 
               Sherwin Lakes Trail; at Lake Dorothy you can observe Red Slate Mountain.
If you came for an overnight stay Crowley Lake Campland is a pleasant location to camp, and get dripping wet paddling on San Joaquin River - South Fork. Lake Dorothy is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. At Lake Dorothy through the months of summer highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. All through the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's with temperatures at Lake Dorothy dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
This lake is so wonderful. On a wonderful day at Lake Dorothy you can take a hike along the Mammoth Rock Trail, and after a long day outdoors Mammoth Lakes Travelodge is a fine spot to spend a night or two.
