     Lake Dorothy is a beautiful lake in the Central Sierra Nevada. There's so much to do here at Lake Dorothy that you need to camp here for a while, Upper McGee Creek Campground is a splendid spot for that, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend San Joaquin River - South Fork. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Dorothy. You get a fine panorama of Red Slate Mountain from Lake Dorothy; after a long day outdoors  
   Mammoth Lakes Travelodge is a nice location to spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Mono Creek, and going for a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail is always a great adventure. Head up to Mammoth Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and Devils Postpile National Monument is one of the destinations that are great to stop by nearby.
So many exciting things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada, not enough
 
               time. A picturesque lake like Mildred Lake near Lake Dorothy is a tremendous location to go to; Lake Dorothy is great enough to spend more than a day at, McGee Creek RV Park and Campground is a great local campground. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Lake Dorothy reach the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 40's; night lows all through the winter for Lake Dorothy tend to be in the 20's. Around Lake Dorothy you don’t get a lot of rainfall; January is the wettest month with most rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. There are splendid locations to explore along the Mammoth Rock Trail, and a day on the slopes of June Mountain is just what you need. This location, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. Bighorn Lake is a nice lake right next door to Lake Dorothy, and dry warm beds await you at Mammoth Creek Inn.
