To get to Dorothy Lake in the north part of Yosemite is a HIKE? Would take a good long day to get there, if I started before sunrise and Leavitt trail head on Sonora Pass (108). Says SeaJohnhike
These mountains rock, just explore all the exciting stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. The top of Forsyth Peak is easily spotted from Dorothy Lake; you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Ten Lakes Trail. West Walker River has a great 2.3-mile-from-start-to-finish
type IV-V whitewater segment nearby, the Leavitt Station Trailhead to Pickel Meadow sector. You are projected to get soaked whitewater rafting and kayaking this segment of West Walker River, so you should be ready for that.
