    A visit to Dorothy Lake is always a good idea. So much enjoyable stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just mind-boggling. Kinney Creek is in the neighborhood of Dorothy Lake and is always a bliss to go to, and there are other locations here than Dorothy Lake, for example Sherrold Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Very charming scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Bear Valley; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Burnside Lake Trail. Dorothy  
   Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
So many amusing things to do at Dorothy Lake, so little time. Black Dome can be seen from Dorothy Lake, and lakes are such peaceful spots, why not check out Upper Kinney Lake. Bloomfield Meadow is right here at Dorothy Lake, and going for a hike along the Charity Valley Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Kirkwood while
 
               you're here.
Summertime highs at Dorothy Lake typically tend to be in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's while Dorothy Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. Dorothy Lake is a wet site that gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the snow is January; July is when it's the driest. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Dorothy Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bloomfield Campground, and a fine spot for whitewater paddling is Carson River - East Fork.
Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Gardnerville; hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is tremendous fun. This lake is so wonderful. Ebbetts Pass is a wonderful location to look at. There's so much to do here at Dorothy Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Highland Lakes Campground is a magnificent place for that.
