Ryan Flann: I've been there several times. I have seen dry lake full. I've hiked up it on both sides. Seen deer, and lady bug nests that were gigantic. I was on the top when the forest falls mud slide happend a long time ago.

This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is perfect here at Dollar Lake, you can go for a hike along the South Fork Trail, and Dollar Lake sits in the shade of the San Bernardino Mountains. Really splendid skiing awaits you at Bear Mountain; possibly you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Dry Lake is just a very short distance away. Be careful coming to Dollar Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. Near Dollar Lake you hit upon Dollar Lake Saddle

| | which is a good location to explore. Summertime highs at Dollar Lake typically tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Dollar Lake. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Dollar Lake. Lake Cabins is a nice place to spend a night or two; a pleasant vista of delightful Charlton Peak is available. Dollar Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Bernardino Mountains. You're most likely hooked on lakes, The Tarn
is one of those nearby, and Best Western Big Bear Chateau is a nice spot to get some rest. From a rain point of view Dollar Lake is a quite typical place; January is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is June.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Oso-Lobo Campground is always a great experience, and the Dry Lake Trail is a pleasant hiking trail close by.
