     You'll discover a stunning lake called Sister Lake near Doe Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Paho Campground is a perfect place to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the John Muir Trail - section 1 is always a great adventure; while you're here, you could also go to pretty Shamrock Lake. Doe Lake gets very little precipitation; January is when you get the most snow here, and October is the month with the least moisture.

   lake is so wonderful. Benson Pass is close to Doe Lake and is beyond doubt a pleasant location to stop by, and after a long day outdoors The Ahwahnee is a great place to spend a night or two. But wait, there's more to do near Doe Lake. Tuolumne River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by; camping is available at Tenaya Lake Campground. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful.

               need a place to stay dnc -- Wawona Hotel is a good choice. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back persistently. There is a splendid hiking trail near Doe Lake called the Ten Lakes Trail; the summit of Bath Mountain can be seen from Doe Lake.
During the warmest time of the year here at Doe Lake, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Doe Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. On a great day at Doe Lake you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12, and if you're here, you could have a look at Big Meadow Creek.
