The Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail is a magnificent hiking trail right next door to Devils Lake, and the peak of Gozem Peak can be seen from Devils Lake. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Devils Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 40's while Devils Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. All the outdoors       enjoyable stuff next to Devils Lake will keep you coming back many times. Do pay a visit to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area while you're here at Devils Lake, and there's whitewater on Trinity River for all you adrenaline junkies. This lake is so wonderful. On a pleasant day at Devils Lake you can take a hike along the Echo Lake Trail, and a delightful close by hotel is Best Western Tree House Motor Inn. There is a nice hiking trail in the neighborhood of Devils                  Lake called the Castle Lake Trail, and if you came to camp Coffee Creek Campground and RV is a magnificent site to do that. There are some good whitewater spots on Trinity River - East Fork, and camping at Jackass Spring Campground is always a delightful experience.
