Detert Reservoir gets a great deal of water; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. If the weather is good here at Detert Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Bald Mountain Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Lake Bordeaux. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time.       The Cadd Fire Trail is a fine hiking trail in the vicinity of Detert Reservoir; whitewater paddling is magnificent on Cache Creek. Playing golf is lots of fun at Aetna Springs Golf Course. There's so much to do here at Detert Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Ritchey Creek Campground is a fine site for that. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from Napa here; you can stay the night at Bothe Napa Valley State Park. The                  warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Detert Reservoir. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Detert Reservoir temperatures fall to the 30's. After a long day outdoors Calistoga Ranch is a great spot to spend a night or two; in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Putah Creek. This lake is so wonderful.
