At Desolation Lake you don’t see much rain; January is the month that gets the most rain; June is when it's the driest. Take a hike on the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section, and you'll come across a lovely lake called Lower Desolation Lake. This lake is                  so wonderful. One of the overriding traits of the surroundings of Desolation Lake is Four Gables, and whitewater paddling is delightful on San Joaquin River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful.
