All year is a great time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you fancy the outdoors. If you need a spot to stay The Inn at Truckee is a pleasant choice, and a great place nearby is Jones Valley. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Sterling Lake Campground, and a quick visit to North Creek       is unquestionably a wonderful idea. Derry Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; throughout January this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A day on the slopes of Royal Gorge is just what you need; a great site for whitewater paddling is Yuba River - South Fork. Having a great time at Derry Lake is easy. Go for a hike on the Loch Leven Trail, and at Derry Lake you can observe Buzzard Roost. This lake                  is so wonderful. The skiing at Soda Springs is pleasant; of course, this is a good neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Jerry Lake is a lake in the neighborhood. Cold Springs Campground is a splendid campground nearby; Fordyce Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Lola Montez Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Mossy Pond. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Derry Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Derry Lake are in the 20's. Derry Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
