Hiking is a popular thing to do around Dennis Reservoir; Rattlesnake Trail is a tremendous local trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Lake Los Carneros. At Dennis Reservoir through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 60's, and through the       dark hours in the wintertime at Dennis Reservoir temperatures plunge to the 30's. Visiting Channel Islands National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Arroyo Burro Trail; time spent at Hope Ranch Private Beach is always brilliant.
