This lake is so wonderful. A glorious close by hotel is Deer Creek Inn, obviously you could also stop at Onion Valley Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all. And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more enjoyable things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A lake close by is Duck Soup Pond; Pearson Ravine is beyond doubt a wonderful place to explore. Delahunty Lake       is a good site of normal rainfall; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow; the driest month is July. High temperatures at Delahunty Lake during the summertime months are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Delahunty Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Feather                  River - Middle Fork; on a good day you can take a hike along the Claremont Trail. Delahunty Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Black Rock Campground is a pleasant local campground, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Gibson Creek. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If the weather is great here at Delahunty Lake, you can go for a hike along the Cleghorn Bar Trail; since you're here you can take a hike along the Finger Board Trail. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the area in the vicinity of Delahunty Lake has to offer.
