The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Visiting Devils Postpile National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and wonderful skiing awaits you at June Mountain. At Deer Lakes you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Central Sierra

Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Hammil Lake; if you came to camp McGee Creek RV Park and Campground is a delightful spot to do that. Sky Meadows is a gorgeous place any time of year, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Sherwin Lakes Trail. Snowcreek Resort is a nice place to get some rest. to do here at Deer Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Water Campground is a glorious place for that, and dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Sierra Nevada. Summer at Deer Lakes arrives with high temperatures in
the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Deer Lakes fall into the 20's. Lakes? Sure, Emerald Lake is in the vicinity,
and get wet paddling on Mono Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Mammoth Rock Trail, and float down the rapids of San Joaquin River - South Fork in a kayak. Be careful coming to Deer Lakes, you might not ever
want to go home again. You can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Mammoth Mountain, and going for a hike along the John Muir Trail - section 2 will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
