Deer Creek Pass is close to Deer Lake and is undeniably a great location to stop by, and if you haven’t been to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, you must schedule some time for it since you're here. During the summer months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Deer Lake while night lows are regularly in the 40's. a normal amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually December, that's the one that rains the most, and July on the other hand is the driest. Deer Lake is right by the Deacon Lee Trail, and Fawn Campground is a
nice campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Trinity River is a pleasant whitewater spot near Deer Lake, and since you're here at Deer Lake it's a pleasant idea to pop by Black Basin. And if that's not sufficient there's loads
more fun stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains. You can run the rapids of Coffee Creek in the neighborhood of Deer Lake.
