This lake is one of the great places here in the Klamath Mountains. A normal amount of rain falls here at Deer Lake; during December this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. High temperatures at Deer Lake during the summer months are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Deer       Lake are in the 20's. Man, is there a heap of amusing things to do near Deer Lake. The top of Gibson Peak is easily spotted from Deer Lake, and Lake Anna is a tremendous lake close by. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Trinity River, and you can go for a hike on the Deacon Lee Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Coffee Creek offers some perfect whitewater, and if you haven’t been to Whiskeytown National Recreation                  Area, you must schedule some time for it if you're here. If you came for an overnight stay Stoney Point Campground is a splendid site to camp, and a nice site to stop by is Deer Creek Pass. Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains. A pleasant trip to Black Basin is a delightful way to spend an afternoon, and Fawn Campground is a great campground here.
