Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Deer Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Packsaddle Campground is always a pleasant experience; there are some delightful whitewater spots on Yuba River - North Fork. So many exciting things       in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just extraordinary. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Deer Lake; Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 is a great local trail; there's whitewater on Lavezzola Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. And that's not all there is to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. After a long day outdoors Chalet View Lodge is a good spot to spend a night or two; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Royal Gorge while you're                  here. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Deer Lake; January is the month that gets the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This location is unbeatable, just look at all the enjoyable things to do in the neighborhood of Deer Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Deer Creek Inn, and a lake nearby is Deer Lake. Deer Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. The Butcher Ranch Trail offers hiking at its best, and Deer Lake is not the only place nearby, Grass Lake is a nearby lake. Good hiking is available along the Deer Lake Trail; a good location is Packer Lake Saddle.
