Going for a hike on the Deer Lake Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and Deer Creek Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest. Nearby Packer Lake Saddle is a great place to go if you're at Deer Lake, and since you're here, you could also check out pretty Deer Lake. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Royal Gorge, and if you need a location       to stay Chalet View Lodge is a glorious choice. Get soaked paddling on Yuba River - North Fork; Horse Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Butcher Ranch Trail. There's so much to do here at Deer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Packsaddle Campground is a magnificent spot for that. High temperatures at Deer Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours                  of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are regularly in the 40's with temperatures at Deer Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Deer Lake is a good place of typical rain; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest month of the year is July. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. All year is a nice time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you have a thing about the outdoors. Deer Lake Dam is picturesque and it's next to Deer Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Lavezzola Creek. So many cool things to do at Deer Lake, so little time.
