Lakes are great; Doe Lake is a lake that's right next door to Deer Lake, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Napa River. The amount of rainfall that falls at Deer Lake is close to the national average; during the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July. After a long day outdoors Ambrose Bierce House is a good spot to spend a night or two; don’t forget to pop by Walnut Flat if you're here at Deer Lake. Not far

| | from Deer Lake, you'll stumble on Fawn Lake which is a stunning lake, and Putah Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Deer Lake, and the overnight is slightly colder of course, usually in the 50's.
