The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. All through the summertime highs here at Deer Creek Reservoir reach the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Deer Creek Reservoir dip into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of folks from Truckee-Grass Valley come       to Deer Creek Reservoir, and there is a splendid hiking trail nearby called the Humbug Trail. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Deer Creek Reservoir. Piety Hill Cottages is a great place to get some rest, and let's not forget Willow Valley Creek which is a stream that you may run into while here. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. Do check                  out Scotts Flat Reservoir close to Deer Creek Reservoir, it's a pretty lake; enjoy a round of golf at Nevada County Country Club. You get a great sight of Banner Mountain from Deer Creek Reservoir, and why not camp at Scott-Flat Campground if you're here at Deer Creek Reservoir. Deer Creek Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rain; through the month of January you get the most rain around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A great close by hotel is Nevada City Inn, and Lava Cap Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could explore. Having a great time in the Northern Sierra Nevada is uncomplicated. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Yuba River - South Fork, and the South Yuba Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
